7 HOUR UNIT - a detailed, challenging and editable unit, best suited to upper KS3 (due to the nature of the subject). The unit starts with an introduction to why genocide was such a significant and horrendous hallmark of the 20th century, before focusing on 4 genocides in particular, then an additional lesson on the Stolen Generations (not a genocide, but a mass replacement of indigenous peoples, and something many students are unaware happened). The Bosnian genocide (2 lessons in one pack, 2 hours total) The Rwandan genocide The Stolen Generation A lot of hard work went into this unit and it would probably save you about 10 hours of planning from scratch.
